We finally got the green light yesterday to begin insulation. Woo Hoo!
It was a long long road getting here. We are amateurs at this rehab stuff. We have good intentions, but sometimes we make mistakes. I'm happy we have building codes. Really, I am. But inspections have been frustrating.
After our first inspection we had to stop work for a few hours until we got a structural permit. Yesterday, we had a subsequent inspection. We were told to add a dryer vent, put more tape on the duct work, and there was a third minor thing we needed to fix. Anyway, the problems have been fixed and we got the green light to begin insulation, despite there being a big pink sign on our front door that says VIOLATION. The inspector will return after the insulation is up.
